Insights

Visualise your sales, royalties, and income data with interactive charts, geographic maps, and year-on-year comparisons.

The Insights page is a comprehensive analytics dashboard — giving you a multi-dimensional view of your sales, royalties, and income data over time.

All monetary values are converted to your team’s primary currency for consistent reporting across marketplaces and regions.

Note: If there are unlinked sales — sales not yet matched to a product — a warning banner appears at the top of the page. Unlinked sales are included in unit counts but excluded from revenue calculations since no product price is available.

Filters

All filters update charts in real time. Combine them to drill down into exactly the data you need.

  • Date Range — Presets include This Month, Last Month, Last 3 Months, Last 12 Months (the default), This Year, and All Time. Choose Custom Range to set manual start and end dates.
  • Marketplace — Filter by sales source (e.g. Amazon KDP, Lightning Source).
  • Sales Channel — Filter by channel type (e.g. Direct, Distributor).
  • Region/Country — Filter by country of sale.
  • Sale Currency — Filter by the original currency of the sale.

Charts display a loading overlay while data refreshes after a filter change.

Top 5 selling products

A table showing the five best-performing products for the selected period:

  • Title — Links through to the title’s detail page
  • Format — Links through to the format’s detail page
  • Units Sold — Total units sold in the period
  • Revenue — Net receipts converted to your team currency

Geographic distribution

A choropleth world map showing unit sales by country. Colour scaling is logarithmic, highlighting distribution across regions even when a single market dominates overall volume.

Year-on-year sales comparison

Side-by-side bar charts comparing the current year against the previous year for both:

  • Units Sold — Compare volume trends year over year
  • Net Receipts/Revenue — Compare income trends year over year

Sales over time

Two monthly charts tracking sales trends across the selected period:

  • Units Sold — A line chart showing monthly unit volumes
  • Net Receipts — A bar chart showing monthly revenue

Royalties over time

A line chart showing total royalties allocated per month. Royalties are grouped by the sales month — not the date the royalty run was processed — so you can see the true earning trajectory of your catalogue.

Income payments received

A bar chart of publisher income payments grouped by payment date. This is useful for spotting gaps where income entries may be missing or for verifying that all expected payments have been recorded.

  • Dashboard — High-level KPIs, action items, top performers, and upcoming royalty runs
  • Title statistics — Per-title deep dive with units sold, KENP read, revenue, returns, format breakdown, and geographic distribution
  • Author Portal — Sales — Author-facing sales view showing unit sales and KENP only (no financial data)
