Adding new rights holders

Add a single rights holder #

To add a single new rights holder, it’s quickest to use the user interface.

  1. Go to the main menu, top left, and click Rights Holders.
  2. On the Rights Holders listing page, click the + New Rights Holder button.
  3. On the form that appears, complete the details.
  4. Click Save.

Bulk import rights holders #

Rights holders can be imported in bulk using the CSV upload feature. A template is available to download from the Rights holders > Import page.

Download the rights holders import template #

  1. Go to the main menu, top left, and click Rights Holders.
  2. On the Rights Holders listing page, click the Import Rights Holders button.
  3. Under ‘What are you uploading?‘, choose ‘Rights Holders’.
  4. Under this, click ‘Download rights holders template file’.
  5. The CSV file template will be downloaded to your device.

Format your rights holders data #

  1. Open the rights holders CSV import template downloaded in the previous step (see above) – we recommended using Google Sheets.
  2. First name and last name are required fields.
  3. Each rights holder must have at least one of email address or rights holder code (and these must be unique).
  4. All other fields are optional.
  5. When your data is ready, save as a CSV. In Google Sheets, this is File > Download > CSV.

Import rights holders via CSV #

  1. Go to the main menu, top left, and click Rights Holders.
  2. On the Rights Holders listing page, click the Import Rights Holders button.
  3. Under ‘Choose your file’ click ‘Browse’ and navigate to your CSV file
  4. Click ‘Next’
  5. The file will be uploaded and validated (checked for problems). You will see the results on a preview page.
  6. If the results look good, click ‘Continue’ and the rights holders will be imported (or, if the preview step highlights problems, you will need to fix the data – read the error message and check the requirements below).
